Electronic Voice Phenomenon

Friday, 3/13/2009. Scott conducted an EVP at the haunted St. Augustine lighthouse. He accounted for everyone in his very small group, the noises you hear are from above their position.

Scott writes: "Chronologically, you will hear some whispering, then two unidentified "pops", kind of like popping your mouth with your thumb, then a whisper-like voice saying something like "Laura, I hate you" followed immediately by a loud scream, then a secondary scream, more of an excited child. When the event happened, I only heard the two pops and the first scream, all sounded like they came from about the 4th or 5th platform. My initial thought was it was Eliza (one of the little girls who died on the premises in the 1870s) playing and getting excited. Now that I've found the whisper voice ahead of it, my thoughts have changed and I now think someone may have killed or tried to kill a woman, possibly for cheating. "

Our commentary: Mr. Renita was a lighthouse keeper shortly after it opened circa 1874. His Wife died at the lighthouse under "mysterious circumstanced". This is all that is known about the death of Ms. Renita.

Elisah Piti, Hezekiah's daughter,  is one of the three little girls killed in an accident at the lighthouse while it was being built. She is known to be the youngest of the girls and presently very active having a grand old time playing ghost with visitors. Maria was 2 years older, this EVP could also be of her as well. The third little girl was the Construction Foreman's child and her name is not found in our research.
